D'Addario Guitar Humidifier

Take care of your guitar with the D'Addario Acoustic Guitar Soundhole Humidifier and avoid dryness or even damage on your guitar. This little and cheap device will help you to keep control of the humidity and keep your guitar safe and healthy.

The Humidifier hangs safely in the Soundhole suspended by the instrument's strings so it never touches the body of the instrument. The humidifier releases the moisture slowly and evenly, keeping your guitar perfectly humidified.

From time to time you will have to recharge the sponge with water (frecuency depends on the climate of your region), please remember to do it with distilled water and if not possible use at least purified water. This will extend the life of the sponge avoiding the show up of fongus or accumulation of residous.

It's very important to keep an eye on the humidity, your guitar should ALWAYS stay in an enviroment between 40% to 60% of relative humidity (ideal is 45% - 50%). Both extremes are bad for the wood, specially on long term high or low humidity exposure.

With relative humidity higher than 60% the guitar starts to sound dull and loses bright, punch and volumen. When humidity is lower than 40%, the instrument can suffer small cracks because of the dryness. Remember that the wood it's an organic material that's very succeptible to temperature and humidity, it's always moving, expanding or contracting itself depending on the enviroment. We strongly recommend to get an hygrometer together with the humidifier.
